RISE: Rising Innovators, Storytellers & Emerging Leaders
RISE is The Mosaic Collective’s signature youth development initiative designed to empower students through the intersection of theatre, arts education, creativity, leadership, and career readiness.
Through strategic partnerships with school districts, educators, businesses, community organizations, and arts professionals across Greater Kansas City, RISE will provide students with immersive learning experiences that strengthen academic achievement, foster essential workplace skills, and cultivate the next generation of creative leaders.
While theatre is often associated with performers on stage, The Mosaic Collective recognizes that some of the most important work happens behind the curtain. RISE intentionally introduces students to the many creative, technical, and leadership opportunities that make productions and community programs possible.
We understand that not every participant aspires to be a performer, and that’s exactly why RISE embraces a broad definition of creativity and leadership.
By exposing students to the many careers and skills associated with the performing arts, RISE helps participants discover strengths, interests, and future opportunities that extend far beyond the stage.
Just as a mosaic is made stronger by the contribution of every piece, the arts thrive because many individuals work together, contributing their talents.
Whether a student finds their passion in performance, production, design, leadership, technology, education, or community engagement, RISE provides a place to learn, grow, and succeed.
Summer Intensive
RISE Innovation Lab
RISE Innovation Lab is The Mosaic Collective’s immersive six-week summer learning experience designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and professional skills needed to succeed both in the arts and in today’s workforce.
Developed in partnership with local school districts, educators, businesses, skilled professionals, and community organizations throughout Greater Kansas City, the program provides students with hands-on exposure to the many disciplines required to bring a theatrical production to life.
While the program culminates in a fully produced youth performance, the true purpose of RISE Innovation Lab extends far beyond the stage. The program introduces students to the wide range of careers, trades, and leadership opportunities that exist both in and beyond the performing arts.

The Mosaic Collective is currently developing an exciting series of community workshops designed to inspire creativity, foster meaningful dialogue, build new skills, and strengthen connections across Greater Kansas City.
As we launch this new chapter, we are thoughtfully curating workshop topics, community partnerships, facilitators, and locations to ensure each experience reflects the diverse interests, cultures, and stories that make our region unique.
